I have now been updated on the complaint and been advised by Yasser and Angie there was not a complaint and it is not down to them to help with customers. please do not use this company please spend a few extra pounds and go with a company you can trust as these are cowboys. Please avoid.

Car hire went smoothly
Car hire went smoothly at collection and return. Staff were courteous and explained all I needed to know and the car was a ordered and clean.
Only two areas of concern - the first the prohibitively expensive additional insurance I was offered and declined.
The second - I was told the car was full of petrol and accepted that that was the case without checking. It was only after driving a few miles that I realised that the car was only one quarter full. Given the price of petrol and the possibility of charges being applied if the car was returned less than full, this was a matter of concern. However I phoned the office, my word for this was accepted, I think the revised fuel level was noted, and I returned the car a little fuller than I received it, with no additional charges applied.

Absolutely ripped off
Absolutely ripped off , paid for full insurance and full to full fuel on line
They made me pay an extra 300 pound for insurance and fuel before I took car at pick up , AVoid as I was one of three complaining about the way they force you to buy unnecessary extras .

Holiday Autos subcontract to other providers
Holiday Autos seem to subcontract out to local rental companies. We got assigned Auto Union in Zagreb, Croatia. There was no desk at the airport to collect the car. We had to call a number, get collected and taken to a nearby office. The instructions were provided beforehand but I missed it. Luckily I printed out the rental voucher so it was easily spotted by staff at the airport. Handy using free airport WiFi and WhatsApp to call them. Besides the initial hiccup, everything went smoothly. Returning the car outside of office hours requires an additional charge of around £27.

Terrible company
Used holiday autos as they had the most competitive price. I failed to investigate further that they required a credit card when picking up the car, as I assumed this just meant you needed a form of payment (like I have experienced with other services). I arrived 20 minutes early to pick up the car with Geurin in Madeira, and was told that they could not give us the car and to call holiday autos. Fair enough. We offered to use my dads credit card, or to pay an upfront deposit, these were declined. On contacting holiday autos, and they said the only thing they could do would be to change the booking, however this was not possible as it was 10 minutes past the pick up time. There was no way to refund any of the £550 for the car hire. After contacting their customer service departments, one said that they agree with my position, told me to make a complaint, but their computer system did not allow them to issue any refund. I understand why they would not allow the care hire, but to then keep a significant amount of money with no refund, for no service is unforgivable. Do not use this company.

Overall, it was a good experience. The price is good, the car was very good. The bus to get to the offsite location took more than 30 minutes. Staff was professional but not friendly. It was not a difficult process.

Efficient car rental agency
Good rental service ; i would have liked to have more vehicles chocies. Otherwise rental and giving up the car is easy. Would recommend.
